The Laser Pain Center and the Laser Pain Center Huntsville is the home of Cutting Edge Laser technology here in Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley. For years in Europe, Laser and light technology has been researched, studied and tested in hundreds of hospitals, clinics and research facilities. Here in the United States many medical schools including Harvard have reproduced these findings. Even NASA studied light therapy here in Huntsville. DARPA was next and as a result, the US Army currently uses laser therapy to help warfighters heal faster.  University medical center hospitals, and doctors all over the country are embracing laser and light therapy in pain control and wound healing.

Cutting Edge M6 Robotic LaserThere are four classes of lasers approved by the FDA.  Dr Millar went on to say, "I discovered that the top of the line in my opinion was the Class IV, Cutting Edge MLS M6 Robotic Laser with up to 25watts of peak power.  This Laser appeared to be light years (pardon the pun) ahead of all the others. It had to do with the MLS system where they lock or sinc multi lasers simultaneously at different frequencies with pulsed and continuous beams all at once. The research was remarkable on this MLS M6 Robotic Laser.

"I was so impressed with the Cutting Edge MLS M6 Robotic Laser that I brought it to Huntsville and the Tennessee Valley as the Laser Pain Center Huntsville." "The best part NO DRUGS OR SURGERY."   "So what can we treat? We treat PAIN.  We treat Chronic Pain & Acute Pain with symptoms like sharp and dull, shooting, stabbing, and achy.  We treat nerve pain with symptoms like tingling, burning, numbness, pins & needles, electric like and pressure.  We treat Peripheral and Diabetic Neuropathy; We treat Foot Pain and Plantar Fasciitis; Bursitis; Chronic Back Pain; Shoulder Pain; Hip Pain and Knee Pain.  If you have pain you deserve to give the Laser Pain Center Huntsville a try."

Dr Millar says, "I've been in the healing business for 16 years. I've never seen results like this before." I feel like we can offer our patients hope again. Hope in the form of pain relief from many chronic problems."

Conditions like Diabetic Neuropathy or Peripheral Neuropathy with or without Restless Leg Syndrome have great success with the Cutting Edge MLS M6 Robotic Laser. Traditional allopathic (regular) medicine seems to be challenged by these conditions. Perhaps its time to look for another solution.

"This technology is NOT covered in Alabama by Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Medicare or any other State or Federal Insurance. Dr Millar went on to say, "But remember, what are you paying in co-pays each month and out of pocket to take all those drugs that may or may not treat your pain or symptoms and have numerous side effects. Have you not heard the commercials, half the commercial is about side effects," So why not give us a try.

Before going to Chiropractic college Dr Millar was an engineer. He now brings that engineering training forward by combining the engineer training with the medical training. While studying lasers, their types, applications, wavelengths, energy output and techniques, Dr Millar was struck at how much engineering is needed. "As this is NOT cookie cutter and just turn it on, one size laser beam does not fit all" said Dr Millar. Therefore, he has assembled a variety of Lasers for the Laser Pain Center Huntsville to treat a variety of problems. They include:

  1. 25 watt peak power Cutting Edge MLS M6 Robotic Laser with multi lasers/multi frequency
  2. 60 watt  Class IV pulsed multi frequency laser
  3. 1.1 watt Class IV continuous laser
  4. .5  watt  Class 3b continuous/pulsed laser
  5. 5m watt Class 3r laser
  6. 1m watt Class 2 laser
  7. 890nm LED Anodyne Therapy

All this says that we have the Laser for your pain at the Laser Pain Center Huntsville.

What is the advantage of MLS laser therapy over traditional low-level lasers?
MLS Laser Therapy with the Cutting Edge M6 Robotic Laser is able to induce strong anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, and analgesic effects simultaneously and within a short period of time.  Other lasers cannot achieve these results because of the limitations of using one or two wavelengths that are not synchronized. The patented control system that generates the MLS pulse synchronizes the emissions to achieve results previously unattainable. Thanks to this characteristic synchronization, the various therapeutic effects not only take place at the same time but reciprocally reinforce each other.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

MLS Laser Therapy FAQs

What is Laser Therapy and how does it work?
Laser therapy is a therapeutic treatment that uses light energy (photons) for tissue healing and pain reduction. The light energy penetrates deeply into damaged cells and stimulates cellular activity. As a result of exposure to the laser, the cells of tendons, ligaments and muscles repair themselves. Light energy enters damaged cells and stimulated inter-cellular activity. This reduces pain in the area and speeds recovery of the damaged cells. Once the cells recover, the healing process is complete.

What is MLS?
MLS stands for Multi-wave Lock System. MLS is the name of the FDA approved technology that utilizes a patented combination of unique wavelengths. The two wavelengths work together to deliver superior results.

How is MLS different?
MLS Therapy uses multiple wavelengths with multiple duty cycles to overcome the limits of traditional Laser Therapy. MLS Continuous laser emissions act fast on inflammation, stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation and inducing fast re-absorption of fluid build-up; however they only have a secondary effect on pain which is diminished after reducing the inflammatory process. The MLS Pulsed laser emissions on the other hand, have a practically immediate effect on pain since they are able to induce analgesia by interfering with the very transmission of the pain impulse to the higher brain centers, but they are less effective at treating inflammation and edema.

What is the advantage of MLS therapy over traditional low level lasers? (LLLT)
Until now, there have been only pulsed light lasers that control swelling and continuous light lasers that control pain, but not both together. Current traditional laser therapy provides partial treatment at best by reducing inflammation or pain but never both at the same time. MLS Therapy is able to induce strong anti-inflammatory, anti-edema, and analgesic effects simultaneously and within a short period of time. LLLT cannot achieve these results because of the limitations of using one or two wavelengths that are not synchronized. The patented control system that generates the MLS pulse synchronizes the emissions to achieve results previously unattainable. Thanks to this characteristic synchronization, the various therapeutic effects not only take place at the same time but reciprocally reinforce each other.

How was MLS Therapy developed and tested?
MLS Therapy has been developed and tested following a strict course of biomedical and clinical research. The effectiveness of the combination of the emissions making up the MLS pulse was initially tested in vitro on cellular cultures, then in vivo on animals, and finally by means of controlled human clinical trials run by university medical centers world wide and major state-of-the-art health organizations treating traumatic and degenerative painful diseases.

What are the most common indications for therapy?
The most common MLS Therapy indications are Pain Relief: Chronic Back Pain, Chronic Neck Pain, Neuropathy (Peripheral and Diabetic), Neurogenic Pain, degenerative disc disease, degenerative joint disease, arthritic conditions, muscular/skeletal system trauma, and inflammatory conditions.

What conditions does it treat?

What can I expect during a treatment?
MLS Laser Therapy is a painless treatment that lasts a few minutes. Some patients have stated they feel a comfortable warm sensation in the area being treated, while other patients usually don’t feel the laser. There is no pain, heat, redness or swelling during or after treatment.

What can I expect after the treatment?
Many patients experience positive results in 3 to 6 treatments, with the average course of treatment being 8 to 10 sessions. Any swelling is greatly reduced and there is a rapid relief of pain. Acute conditions usually subside quickly, typically within one phase of treatments, and chronic conditions can be controlled with regular treatments. The effects of MLS Laser Therapy are cumulative; therefore, expect to see improvement as you proceed through your treatment plan. It is critical that once you start, you complete the course of treatments recommended by your doctor or symptoms are likely to reoccur.

How many treatments are usually needed to get results?
Results can often been seen after the first treatment. Most conditions have protocols that range from 6-10 treatments except for Neuropathy which takes 12-24 treatments. The treatments are cumulative and are delivered 2-3 times per week for the weeks of your care plan.

What are some of the contraindications for therapy lasers?
1.  The MLS laser is used for symptomatic treatment, and is contraindicated where analgesia may mask progressive pathology, and should not be used where the clinician would normally avoid the use of any other analgesia in order to retain the beneficial aspects of pain.
2.  Class IV lasers are potentially harmful to the retina, though accidental retinal damage is unlikely. Both patient and practitioner must wear laser safety eyewear appropriate for the NIR wavelength.
3.  Do not use MLS laser therapy over a pregnant uterus. It may be used on the pregnant patient as an adjunct to the other modalities.
4.  The laser should not be used over the thyroid gland.
5.  It is conceivable that laser-mediated vasodilatation may worsen a hemorrhage.
6.  Laser therapy is contraindicated for patients on certain drugs your doctor will discuss this with you if you are on any of these medications.

Are Cutting Edge MLS Therapy Lasers class IV lasers?
This type of laser is a State of the Art Class IV infrared cold laser with a peak power of 25 watts. MLS Therapy Lasers are FDA cleared, patented via the US Patent Office and compliant with CE Quality Systems. It is the only laser with dual wavelengths that are synchronized in such a way to achieve better results with much shorter treatment times.

What wavelengths are used in the MLS therapy?
MLS therapy uses both the 808nm and 905nm wavelengths simultaneously. The 808nm wavelength is delivered using continuous emission while the 905nm wavelength is delivered using pulsed emission.

Why are two wavelengths used?
MLS Therapy uses two wavelengths to overcome the limits of traditional Laser Therapy. Traditional Laser therapy does not deliver both wave lengths in a reinforcing and synchronized fashion. Continuous laser emissions act fast on inflammation, stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation and inducing fast re-absorption of fluid build ups; however they only have a secondary effect on pain, which is diminished after reducing the inflammatory process. Pulsed laser emissions, on the other hand, have a practically immediate effect on pain, since they are able to induce analgesia, by interfering with the very transmission of the pain impulse to the higher brain centers, but they are less effective at treating inflammation and edema.

How deep does the laser penetrate into the patient?
The laser light will penetrate up to 5 cm based on a variety of factors including skin thickness and target area. Research has shown that the effects of the light are often reverberated deeper with in the tissue to stimulate some of the effects associated with lasers at levels as deep as 10-12 cm depending on tissue type.
